On September 18 and 19, 2018 Harvest Ventures hosted a Macola user training event called the “Macola User Rodeo”.
The focus of the event was “Demo to daily use” meaning that Harvest and Macola technology partners would be showing users how to optimize the software they already have.

What often happens is that companies purchase the recommended solution – Macola with warehouse management, visual planning and scheduling, etc. but never fully implement all the functions they saw in the initial demo.
One of the key takeaways from the event is making sure the fundamental set-ups are complete and appropriate for attendees’ businesses today.
These setups are the building blocks for a successful Macola implementation and they are key to correct transactions, reporting and also the settings which other third-party applications look to (WMS, factory automation, EDI, eCommerce, etc.)
If businesses don’t have these settings right, they will have a lot of challenges trying to scale up their implementation.
Another point to note is that Macola settings may need to change since companies first implemented the software. There are a few reasons why:
- They may not have been correct in the first place
- The business model may have changed
At the Macola User Rodeo, Harvest Ventures hosted sessions to review many of the Macola settings that serve as the foundation of the system, showing users where to start and what their next steps should be.
Macola’s technology partners also assisted users with the areas and settings of Macola that are key to a successful integration with their third-party applications.
The event included many of Macola’s Technology Partners.
These partners play a key role in the Macola ecosystem. They have years of experience in manufacturing and distribution and it was greatly appreciated by attendees and Harvest Ventures that they invested their time to participate in this software training event.

Completely appreciative for the opportunity to attend your conference…very helpful from a ‘new to Macola’ perspective.
I heard back from a number of people here that the rodeo provided us with some very exciting ideas for moving forward. Thanks!
The team here had nothing but good things to talk about, it was a great conference.
Thanks again for a great event.

It was an excellent opportunity for Macola users to speak with other users and Harvest Ventures hopes they will keep in contact to share best practices amongst one another.
The event was held in the quiet countryside in Ontario at Hockley Valley Resort. The venue offered a great space for the various sessions, excellent meals and the ability to stay on site. Attendees even had the chance to relax around a campfire with some gooey s’mores!
Thank you @avalara and @WiSys for keeping us well hydrated yesterday evening at cocktail hour and at dinner. Delicious food served by @HockleyVResort too! It was an excellent night at the Harvest Macola User Rodeo! pic.twitter.com/roMoQZ727k
