When a process in Macola can’t save or complete, it is usually due to another user locking a table that this process needs to access.
This can happen if a user opens the same screen many times and tries to open the same task multiple times – locking themselves!
Another example is if a users’s workstation crashes in the middle of posting. The Administrator can use the Release function to open the record lock.
Often other users trying to access that table will ‘hang’.
Macola’s Online Monitor
The Online Monitor is an easy way to find out which user to ask to close their screens or even back out all together from Macola to see if this gets others going again.
The Online Monitor is available for System Administrators and can be accessed by going to System > Company > Online Monitoring
The release function allows the Administrator to ‘Kill’ or ‘Release’ the records retrieved from system table.
It’s important to use the ‘Release’ function with care and if you need assistance or further understanding of this function, feel free to contact us!
Zoom takes you into a second screen which provides more information about each screen lock for that user.
Clicking the SQL button allows you to view the Query.
